Arapeen OHV Trail System

The Arapeen OHV Trail System is located in Central Utah, approximately 2 hours drive south of Salt Lake City.  The Trail System has over 350 miles of trail that begins at an altitude of 6,000 feet above sea level and summits at over 10,000 feet.  The trail passes through shrub oak, aspen, and pine forests.  Due to the high altitude, the trail is open generally from June through October- depending on snow conditions.

Maple Canyon Sport Climbing

Maple Canyon is the premier place to sport climb in Central Utah.  Climbers come from all over the nation to climb the unique conglomerate walls found in the canyon.  There are over 140+ bolted routes that range in difficulty from 5.4 to 5.14.  There is a National Forest Campground located at the climbing site that includes fire rings, grills, table, vault toilet, but NO drinking water.  Maple Canyon also has ice climbing in the winter season.

Skyline Snowmobile Complex

At an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level, the Skyline Snowmobile Complex has great snowmobiling from Mid-December through April.  Groomed access trails are found up Fairview, Ephraim, Manti, and Mayfield Canyons.  Skyline is a great place for Boondocking and Hill Climbing.

Snowkiting Skyline Ridge

Skyline Ridge is one of the most popular backcountry snowkiting locations in the United States.  The Snowkite launch site, know as the “Big Drift” is located at mile marker 14 along highway 31 east of Fairview, Utah.  Parking and a vault toilet are located at the site.  Due to the altitude of nearly 10,000 feet above sea level (3,040 meters), the Big Drift has great wind and snow.  Highway 14 is open year round, but the roads can get snow packed.
