See LIVE grizzlies and wolves and get a fascinating glimpse into their worlds at this AZA Accredited, not-for-profit wild life park and educational facility. Watch the bears forage for food, play in their ponds and with each other. Early morning and evening visitors may witness active wolf packs howling. Activities include: Keeper Kid’s (kids help hide food for the bears), Wolf Enrichment, live Bird-of-Prey demonstrations, Safety in Bear Country Programs, Yellowstone Park Ranger talks, intriguing films and staff presentations. Explore Bears: Imagination & Reality, an interactive world-class exhibit. Visit the Naturalist Cabin to see exceptional views of two separate wolf packs through immense floor-to-ceiling windows. Highlights are: daily “Pack Chats”, a National Geographic film on wolves and a life-sized wolf model.

The bears at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center had to be removed from the wild because they were becoming dangerously comfortable around humans. Their stories help share a valuable lesson of how people can take the proper steps to ensure bears stay forever wild. The wolves at the Center are ambassadors, providing a greater understanding of this predator in the Yellowstone ecosystem. Open 365 days a year (GWDC bears DO NOT hibernate) Admission is good for two consecutive days. Located one block from Yellowstone National Park.

IMAX is the largest motion picture system in the world and the Yellowstone IMAX Theatre lets you explore the history and scenery of our nation’s first national park in the the amazing IMAX format. The screen is 6 stories tall and you will be surrounded with 12,000 watts of digital stereo sound.

Within the Yellowstone IMAX theatre you will find historical displays, including props from the filming of ‘Yellowstone’. We boast the largest gift shop in West Yellowstone, the Yellowstone Trading Post. Here you will find souvenirs of Yellowstone, clothing, jewelry, DVD’s, books, and other gifts. For your movie satisfaction, we have a full concessions area that offers cold drinks, hot popcorn, roasted nuts, candy, and our famous 50¢ Soft Serve Ice Cream!

Along with the ‘Yellowstone’ movie, we offer other IMAX movies for your enjoyment. For the summer of 2011, we will also be showing ‘Journey Into Amazing Caves’ and ‘Lewis & Clark”. We are located right next to the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
