The company operates more than 200 gas station/convenience stores with an adventure theme in seven western US states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. The company aims to grow to number 300 stores in the coming years. The chain takes it name from the comedy-western Maverick TV series starring James Garner that aired in the late 1950s and early 60s. The company is run by the third generation of the Call family and was founded by the late Reuel T. Call, who got into the petroleum business in the 1920s. www.maverik.com
